CRACK INJECTION - SHAKES AND SPLITS

Shakes and splits can develop in timber beams for a variety of reasons. Their presence can lead to more serious complications. De-Pest have crack injected timber beams, whether glulam or solid timber, in a wide variety of climatic conditions. These range from moisture saturated enclosed swimming pools, wind and sea blown Links Golf club structures, to the scorching dry heat of the Middle East.

INJECTION AND REPAIR METHODS
De-Pest use a variety of different methods depending on the nature and cause of the problem. These range from:-

1. Flange Injection (5 - 7mm wide cracks)
2. Parallel Grain Injection (3 - 5mm cracks)
3. Transverse Grain Injection (1 - 3mm cracks)
4. Crack Enlargement (less than 1mm cracks)
5. Miniature scarfing (Cracks in excess of 7mm)

De-Pest can also provide detailed specifications on repair maintenance and even suitable coatings to suit the prevailing climatic conditions.
